![]() It was sad to watch the lack of professional and the loss of a promised wonderful experience. My daughter was heartbroken from this experience. ![]() I’ve been on several dolphins excursions and this was the worse I have ever seen. When help arrives, it was time to exit the pool. The Instructir even said “My dolphin and I have little experience working with children and I will need help”. Adults were jumping in front of others and taking multiple turns when others didn’t get a chance to work with the dolphin. There was no organization or order of who goes first, second and so on. They cram over 5 groups in the same pool with very little room to experience an encounter with the dolphin. I complained to management and was offered another time to try again, but of course the time was at the same time we were expected back on the cruise ship. She traveled far for this experience and it was nothing like it advertised. We paid for the experience and only got a picture of her holding her hands out with the dolphin. The instructor was horrible and did nothing to assist. She sat in the water the entire time with no attention given to her to interact with the dolphin. She was passed out multiple times without having an opportunity to have the dolphin pull or push her. ![]() ![]() I was extremely disappointed with how my 8year old daughter was treated at this excursion. Overall, it was a nice experience, but if I were to go back to Costa Maya I would probably do an excursion. hand made leather belt, swim cover up, and a couple bottles of vanilla from the duty free shop. We got a couple cool things from the shops. We stopped at a restaurant, had a couple frozen drinks with chips and fresh guacamole so we could cool down in the shade. It was sad seeing the dolphins in captivity but they were so beautiful we enjoyed watching them swim around. There is a dolphin experience within this area as well. I've been in areas like this before, so it didn't phase me, I'd just thank them and keep it moving. Keep in mind, the locals are very eager to sell you things, so they'll try to stop you to make conversation every time you walk by. We were pleased to find that right off the boat, there is a little tourist area with shops, restaurants, poolside bars, ect. We didn't have any excursions planned for this port, but we still wanted to get off the boat and enjoy the sunshine. Not a bad place to wander around for a few hours. This was an experience that we plan on repeating promptly and plentifully. The carnitas was supercalifragilisticexpialidocious! The lunch served was fantastic as were the cocktails. The staff share in their responsibilities so requests were quickly and joyfully met. The chicos y chicas of Mayan Chan could not have been more attentive and engaging. The allure of our emplacement was only surpassed by the service we received. They had a spot picked out for us which included two comfy chairs, a beach bed with a canopy right on the Caribbean Sea on the Mayan Coast. The property flourishes with greenery and is enchanting in its beauty. The vehicle was very nice and the road was pretty bumpy but it was fun ride through Mahahual and then south along the coast. Waveringly we hopped on the bus for the 30 minute ride/back massage□. Management previously emailed the refund option to us but we were on a cruise and didn't notice. When we arrived at the meeting point by the pyramid, we were offered a full refund due to excessive seaweed (sargassum) at Mayan Chan Beach.
